SUGGESTED DESTINATIONS

VENICE

Venice is known as the city of stunning art and architecture. However, it’s also the perfect destination for all travellers who would like to share good food over a great glass of wine. Do we even have to mention the backdrop view of the stunning canals and waterfronts? As you probably know, Italians take food very seriously. We’ll take you to restaurants where you can taste some truly spectacular meals. Along with offering amazing dishes prepared with local ingredients, Venice is also well known for its fresh seafood caught by local fishermen.

ISTRIA (POREČ, ROVINJ, PULA)

The beautiful Istria peninsula offers a great choice for a real gourmet pleasure. The ultimate treasure of the Istrian kitchen is truffles, a subterranean fungus with an aromatic flavour. It is best served with Istrian pasta (pljukanci and fuži), often combined simply with olive oil and cheese. Moreover, excellent wine, fresh seafood, virgin olive oil and homemade bread make every cuisine experience in Istria unique.

On your journey through Istria region, we suggest visiting Poreč, Rovinj and Pula. Poreč is a small town on the western coast of Istria, known for the Episcopal Complex of Euphrasian Basilica, Unesco World Heritage site. Other top sights include ancient temples, medieval town walls and fortresses. Rovinj, located 30 km south of Poreč, is Istria’s star attraction. The charming old town of Rovinj is contained within a small peninsula, marked by a tall church tower rising from its highest point. With its cobbled alleys and colourful Venetian style houses, Rovinj is simply enchanting. Unlike picturesque towns of Poreč and Rovinj, Pula is a proper city. It is home to the most complete Roman colosseum in the world. Moreover, it is a major fishing port, so head there for the freshest oysters and mussels.

OPATIJA

In the late 19th century Opatija used to be a popular resort for Austrian-Hungarian elite. They came to Opatija to improve their health. Located between mountains and the sea, the town is still known as a health tourism destination. With its 12 kilometres long promenade, it’s perfect for long walks next to the sea. However, clean air and sea are not the main reasons to visit this seaside gem. Opatija’s local specialities are renowned throughout the area. Local restaurants combine the seafood with the more meat-oriented cuisine of the hinterland. All of this is paired with the excellent wines of the region.

ZAGREB

Croatia’s capital offers a completely different picture of Croatia than the coastal cities travellers usually visit on their trip to Croatia. Zagreb’s cityscape is an interesting mixture of classic Austro-Hungarian architecture and modernist communist architecture. It is big enough to offer a full range of diverse sights and attractions for everyone, but also compact enough to be explored on foot. This makes it perfect for exploring. We’ll take you on a foodie adventure filled with some of the best local dishes in the city. After visiting Istria region, you’ll see a completely different culinary tradition of Zagreb area. The difference in the selection of ingredients and their preparation is truly notable.

SPLIT

Let us show you why the Roman Emperor Diocletian chose Split to build his lavish retirement palace over two thousand years ago. We’ll take you through this amazing fortress, now the heartbeat of Split’s old town, its beautiful Peristyle, formerly the palace’s central courtyard, and the 13th-century St Domnius Cathedral, originally Diocletian’s mausoleum. Discover hidden gastronomic gems in the narrow streets of the UNESCO protected historical complex of Split and enjoy a glass of wine on Riva, Split’s seafront promenade, overlooking the sunset over the stunning bay of Split.

DUBROVNIK

Once you set your eyes on the ancient city walls elevated above the turquoise Adriatic Sea, you will understand why Dubrovnik, once the capital of the mighty sea-faring Republic of Ragusa, is now on the UNESCO list of World Heritage sites. We will take you down the glittering streets covered with limestone, show you where to have a memorable meal and let you explore the amazing history of its stone baroque buildings. You might want to choose to visit the enchanting Lokrum island from the town harbour or let us take you on a private speedboat tour around the mesmerising Elaphite Islands.
